Still no word on when Jennifer Lopez’s next film, The Governess, will begin shooting. One source questioned whether the production company for the project, Yari Film Group, was still going forward with the film.
I’m wondering this myself. The Internet Movie Database (imdb) says the movie is in pre-production right now and is still slated for a December 2009 release. So they do have a bit of time to get this thing going.
The Governess is another romantic comedy, which Jennifer does very well in. I’d heard she was trolling for projects of a more serious nature so she could get into contention for the Oscars, but as of yet that’s all been rumor. I’m really looking forward this film, which is about a thief that “poses as a wealthy widower’s nanny” and then falls in love with her employer. Her costar for this flick isn’t listed yet but I can’t wait to find out who they pair her with. The strength of the costar will make a huge difference in the chemistry (not that J-Lo doesn’t strike up chemistry with just about everyone she works with!)
Rumors are swirling all over the place about Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony and the state of their marriage.
On one hand, there’s the latest rumor that Jennifer and Marc are actually in trouble AND planning to break up (get this) ON VALENTINE’S DAY.
The plan is supposedly that Jennifer will make an appearance at Marc’s Valentine’s Day concert, they will sing a “surprise” duet, and then announce that they are officially ending their marriage.
This is like something right out of a movie. Honest to Pete. Could that be any more dramatic?
On the other hand is the denial of anything wrong in their marriage by their reps, and the fact that they’ve both been seen out recently smooching and wearing their wedding rings. To me, the kissing in public and making sure their rings are on says a lot. Like, perhaps they ARE having problems and want everyone to know they are working on it.
As far as their reps set of denials… well…. can we really put any stock in those? Reps (publicists) are paid to deflect attention, and even to…. (I hate to say it)… lie. Sometimes.
Much like her pregnancy (which J-Lo remained mum about until Dayanara Torres spilled the beans… on “accident”) we will just have to wait and see if these rumors are true.
How did you spend your New Year’s? Jennifer Lopez (along with hubby Marc Anthony) went down to Puerto Rico for hers. She was present at the swearing in ceremony of the new Puerto Rican governor, Luis Fortuno.
Apparently Marc and Jennifer looked like the ultimate happily married couple at the ceremony (and yes, they both had their rings on!) Rumors are fueling that the two are fighting but they apparently pulled it together for the sake of this ceremony at least. (There’s even a photo of them kissing in public.)
It should be no surprise that Jennifer was present at the ceremony. After all, she’s very proud of her Puerto Rican heritage and even chose to do her very first concert in Puerto Rico. Remember? Here’s a clip from that awesome show:
She was also present at the Puerto Rican Day Parade a year and a half ago. Here’s a clip from that:
Marc Anthony has signed on to participate in the Latino Inaugral Gala -’Celebrando El Cambio’. The gig is January 18th and will have other hot Latino celebs such as Rosario Dawson. (No word on whether J-Lo is joining in, although wouldn’t that be an obvious choice?)
The event will help celebrate Barack Obama’s election to president, and the key role Latinos played in getting him elected. (Again, J-Lo was key in voicing her opinion for him, so I would think she would be doing this along with her hubby Marc. Then again, I haven’t seen the complete list of celebs so she may already be on it.)
All the money raised at the event will go towards creating a “National Museum of the American Latino in Washington, D.C.” which is still in the planning stage.
For this December 31st, I couldn’t help thinking of “Waiting for Tonight” by Jennifer Lopez. When that video came out, it was very popular around the New Years of 1999. Everyone was thinking of the year 2000 and what might happen with technology. This video and song were very, very popular.
As we celebrate the upcoming year (and the great year we’ve just had) why not do it to the music of J-Lo and “Waiting for Tonight“?
I want to thank each and every one of you for reading this blog. Your passion for all things Jlo is inspiring! May you all have a wonderful and safe new year!
Have you heard the scuttlebutt about Rep. Gary Ackerman’s comparison of Caroline Kennedy to Jennifer Lopez?
The gist of it is this: Ackerman said Kennedy is about as qualified as Jennifer Lopez is to be a senator. (Meaning: not very much.) It’s actually a slam on both ladies.
Kennedy, for her part, has graciously responded by saying, “I admire the journey J. Lo has traveled. I’ve been to a school in the Bronx near the house she grew up in and so I actually have a lot of admiration for her.”
She also said that J-Lo looks good. Well… duh. Who doesn’t think that?
I hope you’re having a wonderful week. Here’s a video from a fan with great photos of Jennifer Lopez. It’s set to the music of No Me Ames with Marc Anthony. Even if Jen and Marc are having marital woes, they sure did create a beautiful song together!
Time flies. Jennifer Lopez and P. Diddy (Puff Daddy, Sean Combs) were arrested nine years ago today in conjunction with a nightclub shooting. Thankfully, charges against Jennifer were eventually dropped.
I wonder if J-Lo thinks about today and realizes how far she has come. She’s got a whole different life now. Granted, she might be having marriage troubles, but even that cannot match the fear involved with guns and an arrest.
Jennifer Lopez loves Macy’s (and has for years). If you love Macy’s you can get a $20 gift certificate there by heading over to BabyLune and describing your favorite Christmas memory.
Jennifer Lopez always seems to work on projects that are close to her heart, and her latest movie is no exception. In her upcoming film Plan B, Jen will play a single gal who gets artificially inseminated with twins.
Naturally, Jennifer knows a bit about carrying twins, since she delivered adorable little Max and Emme in February. They are currently looking for a male lead for the film, which will start shooting in Spring.
Perhaps the producers of Plan B should take a clue from JloStalker readers! Way back in June we asked who you all thought might make a great leading man for Jlo, and there were some awesome responses, like Patrick Dempsey, Adam Sandler, Benjamin Bratt, and even Antonio Banderas.
All of those were great choices, but the number 1 choice among readers was Brad Pitt!
I personally think it would be great to see Jen star with Brad Pitt, don’t you?
